On October 10, the 2024 Annual Meeting of the China Council for International Cooperation on Environment and Development (CCICED) opened in Beijing. The theme of the annual meeting is “Openness, Inclusion, Innovation and Cooperation for a Clean and Beautiful World”.
In an interview with China Daily ,Linda Krueger, director of Biodiversity and Infrastructure Policy for The Nature Conservancy, as well as co-lead of CCICED's Special Policy Study titled "Biodiversity Conservation and Implementation of the Kunming-Montreal Framework", expressed her confidence to the Kunming-Montreal framework for achieving a world where people live in harmony with nature, and emphasized the importance of China’s significant global influence and the role to play in determining whether the world can achieve sustainable development in the interview of China Daily during CCIED conference 2024.
As one of Earth’s 17 ‘megadiverse’ countries in ecological terms—China has accumulated extensive experience in the delineation of ecological red lines and the construction of national parks, which will be of help to China’s contribution to the implementation of COP16 and the Framework globally.
In support of China's efforts, The Nature Conservancy (TNC), a long-standing conservation partner since 1998, looks forward to contributing to China's events at CBD-COP16 and playing its part in delivering a successful conference outcome.
